Hey guys it's IK here.
So today I will be talking about the film that is dun... dun... dun... The Theory of Everything which is basically based on the life of Stephen Hawking and his relationship with his first wife Jane Hawking. I've been meaning to watch this film for some time now and got round to acting upon my wish on... Saturday. I almost forgot when I watched it actually - silly me. Anyway the film doesn't just show Stephen Hawking as we know him today - an extremely knowledgeable physicist who has a terminal disease called Motor Neuron Disease ,which involves the decaying of the motor neurons and your muscles also stop working , and is bound to life on a wheelchair and has to use an Equaliser to speak by using a clicker to select letters to form a word and a sentence - it also shows his life before he was diagnosed with this disease. The thing I love most about his early life is that one of the greatest minds in our world were also very lazy when they were in university.
Eddie Redmayne plays Stephen Hawking and gosh he did a jolly good job at it. Stephen went to Cambridge University and studies astrophysics. There he met with a literature student called Jane Wilde ( played by Felicity Jones - bloody amazing job as well) who later on became his first wife for thirty years. When Stephen, his classmates and his professor attend a lecture on black holes he theorises that black holes could've been a part of the creation of the universe. He writes his thesis on this.
Whilst doing his research , Stephen's muscles begin to fail and he falls. In the hospital it's revealed he has a terminal disease called Motor Neuron Disease. This disease will eventually make him unable to swallow, talk, breathe or move most of his body and it's also revealed he will only have about two years to live. Stephen then becomes totally determined on proofing his theory. He tries to push Jane away but when she confesses her love to him he gives in. Stephen's dad wants Jane to have a good life and to not have to care for Stephen and give up on her own dreams but she tells him that they both love each other and they soon get married and have a son.
Stephen does eventually prove his theory and while celebrating with Jane and his friends his state worsens as less of muscles are working. They have a daughter after Stephen invents a theory about the visibility of black holes - this causes him to be a world famous physicist.
I won't spoil the rest of the film for you because trust I will if I don't stop myself. I have been thinking about this film for a while after watching this and it just makes you wonder if you can achieve a lot in life too even if you have mediocre levels now. To be completely honest, I don't have mediocre levels but they're quite a bit above the average level for my age. I know I'm not a prodigy - pretty blatant obvious - but it's nice to know that I can achieve something even if I'm a lazy little twonk (British for 'stupid person').
Anyway do watch the film because it is absolutely tremendous to watch - I was watching it while doing homework ( I gave up the homework part after about ten minutes and just focused on the film because I'm awesome! Ching!) and eating cake. I'll put the trailer down below:
IT'S AMAZING OKAY! YOU TRUST ME AND I TRUST YOU. YOU UNDERSTAND? GOOOOOD.
Anywho guys do watch this film and thanks for reading. That's it for today I presume. Wow I'm talking very formally this post - must be the influence of the film.
Look out for a post on The Riot Club by the way.
