Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift

Hey guys it's IK again.

I think I'm blogging so much to make up for the 5 weeks of the summer holidays where most of us were MIA. For those who don't know what that means it's an acronym for 'Missing In Action.'

Anywho, the music video for 'Wildest Dreams' by Taylor Swift has recently been published and may I state my opinion but it's absolutely awesome. I adore the song - well I'm a high fan of Taylor's songs anyway since she has such an awesomely unique voice - and the video I think suits it as well. Their trying to hide their relationship which associates itself with the olden era where slavery was still quite high eventhough it was slowly becoming abolished. In those days relationships with a man who wasn't your husband was frowned upon. The lyric : 'No one has to know what we do,' conveys the message that they want to keep their relationship hidden for matters we don't necessarily know at the moment. Later on in the video we discover that our male protagonist is engaged which completely shatters the leading woman.

I realised that a lot of issues had sprouted out from this video with people assuming that the video was racist because Taylor hadn't used any black people. I don't really want to elaborate on the situation in case I say something wrong causing thousands of people to arrive at my doorstep with a bunch of pitchforks and torches. Without going into further depth of the video I believe that people should just enjoy the music. The video was about a tragic love story in that certain era. In my opinion people should just sit back and listen without noticing tiny details that weren't supposed to cause a riot.

The video itself was inspired by Taylor's maternal grandmother which I find really sweet. Maybe I'm just too nice - oh well.
